What It Means to Savor
When I consider what it means to savor something, I think of the way I intentionally pause to take in the best part of anything that amazes me long enough to make a lasting memory of it.
Fall gives me permission to savor colors, textures, and tastes like a kid.

As autumn quietly ushers in yellow and orange hues, I can’t help but smile at the subtle wonder they inspire.
The Emotional Power of Yellow and Orange
These very colors that stir nostalgia every year often bring hesitation or fear to clients when suggested for their art or offices.

Yellow, in particular, evokes deep emotions—whether it involves adding bits of it in fabrics or something as simple as a mug.
Yet, as the air cools and the trees respond with a fiery transition, these brassy tones intoxicate us all with a quiet, almost sacred wonder.
An Invitation to Explore Curiously
When the treetops start to curl and my mossy side yard gets carpeted with crispy, colorful leaves, it's a gentle invitation to lean in closely and explore with curiosity.

Life has both rough and soft edges, much like the season, and they co-exist not by chance but by purposeful design.
The Harmony of Contrast and Change
Each texture—soft moss, brittle leaf, cool air—blends into the stunning harmony of change and stillness that is fall.

Growth is decelerating, yet profound transformation quietly waits just beyond the horizon.
This year, despite all its turmoil, the fall season encourages me to find a way to reframe my experience and embrace those contrasting truths.
Not as conflict, but as essential elements of a beautifully intricate tapestry, where diversity enhances understanding, and through prayer, harmony emerges from seeming contradiction.
The Slow Dance Between Comfort and Change

The interplay of the comforting colors, textures, and flavors of fall, along with its transformative decay, embodies an extraordinary beauty that is difficult to express in words.
The slow, deliberate fading from warm days to cool nights with it's gentle transition, holds a unique space for those of us who find change challenging.
It reminds me that change isn’t only about loss.

It’s often a quiet invitation to step through a door we never knew was there—a portal to new realities, fresh starts, and the unexpected joys that accompany both.
Curiosity and Faith: Guides Through Change
Though change may never feel comfortable, faith can be a compass, and wonder an escort.

Together, they color the unknown with possibility, transform chaos into creativity, and tint new seasons with unrealized potential.
In embracing curiosity, we give ourselves permission to explore without needing all the answers—to lean into the mystery rather than resist it.
Faith invites us to soften our gaze and see beyond disruption, revealing hidden beauty in the cracks and the shadows.

This combination is potent, enabling us to handle transitions with grace, patience, and a hopeful confidence that seems inexplicable to the outside world.
Holding Space for Growth and Transformation
For those of us who crave order but face the unpredictability of a changing world—and for those whose minds move in brilliant, sometimes scattered ways—this season’s message feels especially vital.

It reminds us that growth isn’t always linear or neat, and that the tension between comfort and change is, in fact, fertile ground for transformation.
So as the leaves continue their quiet dance from branches to earth, may you find in each flutter a gentle encouragement: to slow down, to savor, and to trust that even the most uncertain paths hold moments of wonder and promise waiting to be discovered.

Let curiosity be your steady companion and faith your gentle guide.
In doing so, you may not only begin to welcome change—you just might unlock a deeper connection to yourself and the beautiful rhythms of life unfolding around you.
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
